Malaysia finish runners-up after spirited show in university meet

PETALING JAYA: Malaysia’s Under-25 basketball team gave a gutsy show but fell short of capturing the BLIA International University Basketball Invitational crown after they lost 57-74 to the United States’ Westmont College in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, yesterday.

The selection team had started the final strong by holding the lead into half-time, but Westmont launched a comeback that saw them outscore Malaysia 29-9 in the final quarter.
