PETALING JAYA: The Selangor Basketball Association (SBA) have inked a partnership with global sportswear brand Under Armour to sponsor the state Under-15 and Under-17 teams.
Under the partnership, the brand will sponsor the youth teams with high-performance basketball shoes and sports backpacks for national tournaments.
SBA president Sunny San said the partnership represents an important step forward for the development of basketball in the state.
"A very special mention goes to our partner, Under Armour. They are stepping up in a big way by sponsoring our U15 and U17 state teams.

"This partnership equips our young players with the best tools to succeed and marks a significant step in professionalising basketball in Selangor," he said during their Chinese New Year Luncheon and Glory Awards on Sunday (March 8).
Meanwhile, SBA also announced a major upgrade to their home venue at the Dewan Bukit Tinggi, which was made possible through a RM1 million Malaysia Games (Sukma) grant from the state government.
The upgrade includes new air-conditioning systems, expanded spectator seating, professional lighting, and improved access road.
The venue is set to host the Under-17 National Championships in May, with Selangor hoping to make full use of the home-court advantage.
Another announcement was the launch of the Selangor Basketball League (SBL) Under-20 season, which will feature a home-and-away format aimed at bridging the competitive gap for players after the Under-17 level.
The new league is expected to provide young players with a more structured and competitive platform to continue their basketball development.
