Aaron-Roy King march into Arctic Open quarters


PETALING JAYA: Men's doubles pair Aaron Tai-Yap Roy King booked their place in the Arctic Open quarter-finals after beating Taiwan's Lee Fang-chih-Lee Fang-jen.

Aaron-Roy King defeated the seventh seeds 21-19, 21-11 in 39 minutes in their second-round match at the Energie Arena in Vantaa on Thursday (Oct 8).

They will next face either Thailand's Peeratchai Sukphun-Pakkapon Teeraratsakul or Scotland's Matthew Grimley-Christopher Grimley.

Meanwhile, national mixed doubles pair Chen Tang Jie-Chan Wen Tse saw their campaign come to an end.

Tang Jie-Wen Tse went down 15-21, 14-21 to China's world No. 1 pair Feng Yanzhe-Huang Dongping.
