PETALING JAYA: Lee Zii Jia is through to the second round of the Arctic Open after overcoming China’s Dong Tianyao on Wednesday (Oct 7).
The 2023 champion took control early at the Energia Arena in Vantaa before sealing a 21-18, 21-14 win in the first round.
The win also avenged his loss to the world No. 40 in the Orleans Masters qualifying round in March.
Zii Jia will next face Taiwan’s Su Li-yang, who stunned fifth seed and All-England champion Lin Chun-yi 21-17, 21-6.
