PETALING JAYA: National singles shuttler Leong Jun Hao was sent packing in the third round of the Asian Games at the Ichinomiya City Municipal Gymnasium on Saturday (Sept 26).

Jun Hao went down 21-16, 21-11 to Indonesia’s Alwi Farhan in 43 minutes.

His performance paled in comparison to his sensational win over world No. 1 Jonatan Christie in the quarter-final tie against Indonesia in the men’s team event.

Malaysia eventually lost the tie 2-3 then.

With Jun Hao’s exit, Malaysia now have only two representatives left in the individual competition.

They are men’s doubles pair Goh Sze Fei-Nur Izzuddin Rumsani and women’s doubles duo Pearly Tan-M. Thinaah, who are both through to the quarter-finals.
