PETALING JAYA: Singles shuttler Justin Hoh’s hopes of making a bold statement ended in disappointment after crashing out in the quarter-finals of the Australian Open in Sydney on Friday (June 12).

The world No. 47 suffered a heavy 7-21, 13-21 defeat to Indonesia’s Moh Zaki Ubaidillah in a one-sided match that lasted just 38 minutes.

Expectations were high for the 22-year-old after he defeated Zaki at the Asian Team Championships in China earlier this year, but he failed to repeat the feat.

It was Justin’s third defeat to the Indonesian. He had also lost to Zaki in last year’s SEA Games team competition and the Thailand Masters.
