Tang Jie-Ee Wei exit Asian C'ships after shock defeat


PETALING JAYA: Mixed doubles world champions Chen Tang Jie-Toh Ee Wei were stunned after losing to world No. 147 Kim Je-hyeon-Jang Ha-jeong in the quarter-finals of the Asian Championships on Friday (April 10).

The match at the Ningbo Olympic Centre saw Tang Jie-Ee Wei pushed hard by the South Korean pair before going down 19-21, 17-21 after 46 minutes.

The defeat not only ended their hopes of reaching the semi-finals but also denied them at least a bronze medal at the tournament.
