Justin bows out in Swiss Open second round

PETALING JAYA: Malaysia’s men’s singles shuttler Justin Hoh saw his Swiss Open campaign come to an early end after losing in the second round to India’s Tharun Mannepalli on Thursday (March 12).

The match at St Jakobshalle in Basel saw world No. 38 Justin unable to overcome Tharun as he went down 14-21, 20-22 in 43 minutes.

The win also allowed Tharun to avenge his earlier defeat to Justin, who had beaten him in the qualifying round of the Hong Kong Open last September.

Justin will now shift his focus to France where he will compete in the Orleans Masters starting next Tuesday.

He is scheduled to face Taiwan’s Chi Yu-jen in the first round.
