PETALING JAYA: Women’s doubles shuttler Teoh Mei Xing’s hopes of making an immediate impact with new partner Tan Zhing Hui did not materialise at the Singapore International Series.

Their campaign ended in the semi-finals after the duo went down 8-21, 19-21 to Taiwan’s Hsieh Mi-yen-Yu Chien-hui in 32 minutes on Saturday (March 7).

Earlier, Mei Xing’s outing in the mixed doubles with Tan Zhi Yang also ended in disappointment after they were knocked out in the quarter-finals by India’s Sathwik Kanapuram-Radhika Sharma 20-22, 19-21.

Mei Xing was paired with Zhing Hui following her regular partner Go Pei Kee’s decision to quit the game last month.

However, Malaysia still have a reason to cheer in Singapore after Loo Bing Kun-Noraqilah Maisarah booked their place in the mixed doubles final.

They defeated fellow Malaysians Loh Zi Heng-Nicole Tan 16-21, 21-17, 21-14 in the semi-finals.

Bing Kun-Noraqilah will face Indonesia’s Muhammad Al Farizi-Jessica Rismawardani in the title match.
