Sze Fei-Izzuddin book second round spot in India


PETALING JAYA: Independent men's doubles shuttlers Goh Sze Fei-Nur Izzuddin Rumsani booked their spot in the Indian Open second round after overcoming veterans Goh V Shem-Choi Sol-gyu.

World No. 7 Sze Fei-Izzuddin had to come from behind to claim a 19-21, 21-16, 21-10 win at the Indira Gandhi Sports Complex in New Delhi on Wednesday (Jan 14).

Sze Fei-Izzuddin, who are the defending champions, will take on the winner of the match between England's Ben Lane-Sean Vendy and Taiwan's Lee Jhe-huei-Yang Po-hsuan next.

Women's doubles duo Pearly Tan-M. Thinaah also progressed after beating homesters Kavipriya Selvam-Simran Singhi 21-18, 21-6.

The world No. 2 pair will next play French combo Margot Lambert-Camille Pognante.
