Sze Fei-Izzuddin reach Japan Masters second round

PETALING JAYA: Men’s doubles shuttlers Goh Sze Fei-Nur Izzuddin Rumsani booked their spot in the Japan Masters second round after coming out on top over South Korea’s Kang Min-hyuk-Ki Dong-ju.

Sze Fei-Izzuddin secured a commanding 21-17, 21-13 win over the Koreans in just 30 minutes at the Kumamoto Prefectural Gymnasium on Tuesday (Nov 11).

The victory was sweet revenge for the independent pair after losing to Min-hyuk-Dong-ju in the China Open first round in July.

The independent pair will next face the winners of the all-Japanese clash between Tori Aizawa-Daisuke Sano and Keiichiro Matsui-Katsuki Tamate for a place in the quarter-finals.
