Tang Jie-Ee Wei face Soon Huat-Shevon in all-Malaysian clash for semis spot

PETALING JAYA: World mixed doubles champions Chen Tang Jie-Toh Ee Wei underlined their class by cruising past China’s Gao Jiaxuan-Wu Mengying 21-14, 21-11 in the second round of the Denmark Open on Thursday (Oct 16).

The fourth seeds took just 33 minutes at the Jyske Bank Arena in Odense to book their place in the quarter-finals.

They will take on compatriots Goh Soon Huat-Shevon Lai Jemie next, guaranteeing Malaysia a place in the semi-finals.

Soon Huat-Shevon oozed class as they defeated Japan's Yuichi Shimogami-Sayaka Hobara 21-13, 21-18 in 35 minutes.
