PETALING JAYA: Women's doubles shuttlers Pearly Tan-M. Thinaah continued their fiery form by booking their spot in the Arctic Open final for the second year in a row.
Pearly-Thinaah were pushed hard by Taiwan's world No. 11 Hsieh Pei-shan-Hung En-tzu but the Malaysians showed showed grit and determination to come out on top 22-24, 21-8, 21-17 in 63 minutes in Finland on Saturday (Oct 11).
The world No. 2 pair will take on Japan's world No. 6 Rin Iwanaga-Kie Nakanishi for the title on Sunday (Oct 12).
It will be Pearly-Thinaah's sixth final of the year after capturing the Thailand Open and finishing runners-up in the World Championships, Japan Open, Indonesian Open and Indonesian Masters.
At last year's Arctic Open final, they lost to China's Liu Shengshu-Tan Ning.
