PETALING JAYA: Young mixed doubles shuttlers Wee Yee Hern-Chan Wen Tse celebrated a career milestone by clinching their first title together in the Thailand International Series.

The 20-year-olds Yee Hern-Wen Tse, who only combined early this year, pulled off an impressive 22-20, 21-16 win over world No. 64 home pair Ratchapol Makkasasithorn-Nattamon Laisuan of Thailand in Korat on Sunday (Aug 10).

It was a good breakthrough for world No. 144 Yee Hern-Wen Tse, who are seen as future pair for the country.

The duo were only competing in their second tournament together after reuniting following a brief split when Wen Tse was combined with Chen Tang Jie.
