Tang Jie-Ee Wei bow out of China Open in quarter-finals

PETALING JAYA: Mixed doubles shuttlers Chen Tang Jie-Toh Ee Wei’s campaign in the China Open came to a disappointing end in the quarter-finals after they went down to homesters Guo Xinwa-Chen Fanghui.

Tang Jie-Ee Wei had never lost to the world No. 9 pair and All-England champions before this, winning both their previous meetings in the China Masters and Hong Kong Open last year but could not replicate their past performances and lost out 19-21, 15-21 in 43 minutes at the Olympic Sports Center Gymnasium in Changzhou on Friday (July 25).

Malaysia’s challenge in the mixed doubles in the competition is over after the world No. 4 duo’s defeat.
