KUALA LUMPUR: Injured men's singles shuttler Ng Tze Yong is set to undergo surgery in Doha, Qatar.

Tze Yong tore his anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) while competing in the Malaysian Masters in May.

"We have agreed to send Tze Yong to Doha to undergo surgery for his ACL," said BAM secretary-general Datuk Kenny Goh.

"The National Sports Institute (NSI) is arranging the date for his surgery," he said.

He added that Tze Yong could take up to a year to fully recover and return to competitions.
