Jun Hao out of Thailand Open, doubt for Malaysian Masters

PETALING JAYA: Men’s singles shuttler Leong Jun Hao has withdrawn from the Thailand Open which starts on Tuesday (May 13) in Bangkok and is a doubt for the Malaysian Masters from May 20-25 in Bukit Jalil.

World No. 24 Jun Hao picked up a hand injury in the Sudirman Cup last week and will not be risked in the Thailand tourney.

The 25-year-old’s participation in the home Masters also looks uncertain and depends on his recovery.

"Jun Hao has withdrawn from the Thailand Open to give himself the best possible chance to get ready for the Malaysian Masters," said singles coaching director Kenneth Jonassen.
