PETALING JAYA: Mixed doubles shuttlers Chen Tang Jie-Toh Ee Wei will be reunited following a short separation.

The Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) split up Tang Jie-Ee Wei due to the pair's strained relationship but the duo have resolved their differences quickly and will continue playing together in the Singapore Open from May 27-June 1.

In fact, they may even be played together during the Sudirman Cup in Xiamen, China, from April 27-May 4. They however, have been listed to play with different partners at the Taiwan, Thailand and Malaysian Masters before reuniting at the Singapore Open.

Their decision to play together comes just a day after Youth and Sports Minister Hannah Yeoh urged the players to get back together if they harboured hope to remain in the Road to Gold programme.

"BAM are announcing that Chen Tang Jie and Toh Ee Wei will be resuming their partnership in the mixed doubles event," said the national body in a statement on April 16 (Wednesday)

"The decision follows a request from the two players and following much discussion between the coaching team and the players."

"Tang Jie-Ee Wei reached a career-high No. 3 in the world in January before dropping one rung to No. 4.
