Pros Sze Fei-Izzuddin battle their way to Asian meet quarters

PETALING JAYA: Men’s doubles pair Goh Sze Fei-Nur Izzuddin Rumsani lived up to expectations by reaching the quarter-finals of the Asian Championships in Ningbo, China, on Thursday (10 April).

The professionals defeated Thailand’s Kittinupong Kedren-Dechapol Puavaranukroh 21-18, 22-20 in a hard-fought second round match.

The top seeds Sze Fei-Izzuddin had to stave off strong challenge from the Thais before prevailing with a win in a 48-minute intense game.

Sze Fei- Izzuddin will now face the home pair, Chen Boyang-Liu Yi, for a place in the semi-finals.
