PETALING JAYA: Men's doubles shuttlers Goh Sze Fei-Nur Izzuddin Rumsani sensationally beat Indonesia's world No. 4 Fajar Alfian-Rian Ardianto to storm into the final of the World Tour Finals.

The world No. 7 pair fought brilliantly to narrowly come away with a 17-21, 21-16, 27-25 victory in a thrilling 81-minute last four match in Hangzhou on Saturday (Dec 14).

Sze Fei-Izzuddin will take on either Denmark's world No. 3 Kim Astrup-Anders Skaarup Rasmussen or another Indonesian pair, world No. 11 Sabar Gutama-Moh Reza in the title match on Sunday (Dec 15).

In their debut Finals, the independent pair now have an opportunity to become the first Malaysian men's doubles pair to capture the title since Goh V Shem-Tan Wee Kiong emerged champions in 2016.

A thrilled Sze Fei said: "It was a very tight match and all credit to the fans, who were cheering for us."

Izzuddin said: "I just played like nothing to lose and we thought better to lose than not try anything risky."
