Malaysia's men's doubles badminton bronze also gift to wife, says Aaron Chia

The men’s doubles bronze medal won by Aaron Chia was a birthday gift to his wife Goh Mui Kee as well as a gift to Malaysia.

After he and men’s doubles partner Soh Wooi Yik won the bronze medal at the Paris Olympics by defeating Denmark’s Kim Astrup-Anders Skaarup Rasmussen in a stunning comeback, Aaron shared a photo of him and his wife with the medal.

“Happy birthday to my love. Hope this can be the most special birthday gift for you,” he said.

Aaron-Wooi Yik gave Malaysia its first medal in Paris, after rising from the dead to mount a stunning comeback and taking down the Danes 16-21, 22-20, 21-19 in the bronze medal match on Sunday (August 4).

The duo replicated their bronze medal finish at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
