Aaron-Soh win again and out to beat China's world No. 1 to top group

Men's doubles shuttlers Aaron Chia-Soh Wooi Yik

PETALING JAYA: Men's doubles pair Aaron Chia-Soh Wooi Yik are as good as assured of a spot in the quarter-finals of the Paris Olympics.

The duo secured a 21-10, 21-15 win over Canada's Adam Dong-Nyl Yakura in their second Group A match.

A day after coming from behind to beat England's Ben Lane and Sean Vendy in their opening match, Aaron-Wooi Yik claimed a far more comfortable win at Adidas Arena in Port de la Chapelle on Sunday (July 28).

The 2021 Tokyo Games bronze medallists will next take on China's world No. 1 Liang Weikeng-Wang Chang in their last group match on Monday (July 29).

A victory over Weikeng-Wang Chang will ensure that Aaron-Wooi Yik will finish top of their group and avoid the other group winners in the last eight.
