Men's singles shuttler Leong Jun Hao pulled off a stunning win over world No. 3 homester Jonatan Christie to storm into the second round of the Indonesian Open on June 5.

KUALA LUMPUR: Men's singles shuttler Leong Jun Hao has stunned home favourite and world No. 3 Jonatan Christie to reach the second round of the Indonesian Open.

World No. 32 Jun Hao, who was promoted from the reserves list and was making his debut in a World Tour Super 1000 competition, fought brilliantly to pull off a superb 21-13, 16-21, 21-12 victory in 62 minutes at the Istora Senayan on Wednesday (June 5).

It was the 24-year-old's biggest win in his career so far, coming just a week after he toppled Jonatan's teammate and world No. 9 Anthony Ginting in the second round of the Singapore Open.

Jun Hao will next take on the winner of the match between Taiwan's world No. 11 Chou Tien-chen and world No. 17 Lin Chun-yi on Thursday (June 6) for a place in the last eight.
