KUALA LUMPUR: National coaching director Rexy Mainaky did not mince his words in making an apology for the players’ sub-par performances in the ongoing Malaysian Open.

None of the players managed to reach the semi-finals of the home tourney for the second year running. There were hopes on independent men’s doubles pair Ong Yew Sin-Teo Ee Yi and national men’s doubles pair Aaron Chia-Soh Wooi Yik to end Malaysia’s wait for the title as they were the two pairs who managed to clear their second-round hurdles.
