PETALING JAYA: Mixed doubles pair Yap Roy King-Valeree Siow secured their first international title this year after winning the Indonesian Masters in Medan on Sunday (Sept 10).
Reigning national champions Roy King-Valeree defeated Hiroki Nishi-Akari Sato of Japan 13-21, 21-14, 21-14 in 47 minutes to return to their winning ways on the international stage.
The world No. 58 had captured three consecutive titles at the Latvia, Hellas and Ukraine Internationals in 2021 but had fired blanks since then.
Last week, they had bowed out from the Indonesian International Challenge at the same venue.
Roy King-Valeree will now be looking to continue their momentum when they play in the Hong Kong Open which begins on Tuesday (Sept 12).
