PETALING JAYA: World No. 8 Lee Zii Jia has broken his silence on the appointment of his new coach, naming Wong Tat Meng (pic) as the new coaching director for his set-up (Team LZJ) to fill the spot left vacant by Indonesian Indra Wijaya last year.

The well-travelled Tat Meng, who is currently coaching Hong Kong’s men’s singles players, is expected to start coaching Zii Jia as soon as his relocation process from Hong Kong to Malaysia is sorted out.

Tat Meng, 55, has served as the Badminton Association of Malaysia’s (BAM) men’s and women’s singles coach before, with coaching stints in Indonesia, Scotland, South Korea and Hong Kong.

Zii Jia parted ways with Indra in October last year where his sparring partner Liew Daren also doubled up as a coach since then.
