PETALING JAYA: Stomach cramps put paid to Goh Jin Wei’s hopes of progressing to the second round in the All-England.

The independent women’s singles shuttler was forced to retire when she was narrowly leading 13-12 in the third game against Germany’s world No. 30 Yvonne Li in the first round at the Utilita Arena in Birmingham on Tuesday.
