Liu Ying's new partner is Yew Sin, ready to start anew after CNY

New start: Goh Liu Ying will be playing with Ong Yew Sin in the mixed doubles.

PETALING JAYA: Independent shuttler Goh Liu Ying has decided to team up with Ong Yew Sin to give her mixed doubles career another shot.

Liu Ying and Yew Sin have entered their names for the German Open from March 8-13 in Mulheim and All-England in Birmingham from March 16-20.

Liu Ying said she is excited to start all over again with Yew Sin after the Chinese New Year celebration.

"It will be a new beginning for Yew Sin and I," said the 32-year-old Liu Ying.

Liu Ying's partnership with her former partner Chan Peng Soon ended after their last appearance at the World Tour Finals in Bali last year. Their best achievement was winning a silver medal at the 2016 Rio Olympic Games.

Peng Soon, who rejoined the Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) last month, has already started his new partnership with Valeree Siow.

"I'm always associated with Peng Soon, but now, I'll try to make a name with Yew Sin. I know, it will not be easy but let's see how it goes.

By joining forces with Liu Ying, Yew Sin will now play a double role. He will continue to play in the men's doubles with Teo Ee Yi. Both are currently ranked 11th in the world.
