KUALA LUMPUR: National men’s doubles shuttlers Aaron Chia-Soh Wooi Yik made some amends by winning their final group match in the World Tour Finals.

The Philippines SEA Games winners battled for 62 minutes to beat Lu Ching-yao-Yang Po-han of Taiwan 21-17 19-21 21-19 to finish third in Group B at Tianhe Gymnasium in Guangzhou, China yesterday.

The win was a consolation as the duo have failed to make the semi-finals of the US$1.5mil (RM6.2 mil) tournament after losing their earlier matches against Mohd Ahsan-Hendra Setiawan of Indonesia and Taiwan’s Lee Yang-Wang-chi-lin.

Only the top two in a group advance to the last-four knockout stage.

Meanwhile, Malaysia’s Chan Peng Soon-Goh Liu Ying ended their campaign in the Finals without any wins after losing 10-21, 8-21 to South Koreans Seo Seung-jae-Chae Yu-jung.
