Axelsen: Bring on Chong Wei

BANGKOK: Bring it on!

World champion Viktor Axelsen is eagerly waiting to face-off Lee Chong Wei in the first singles in a mouth-watering final Group tie between defending champions Denmark and Malaysia on Wednesday

Axelsen has won his last three meetings against Chong Wei at the 2016 World Superseries Finals, 2017 Japan Open and the 2017 World Superseries Finals in Dubai.

"I'm very much looking forward to playing him since our last meeting. Playing against Chong Wei is always an experience," said Axelsen after winning his match against Vladimir Malkov 21-14, 21-3 in 25 minutes in a Group D tie against Russia on Tuesday

He however, is cautious about the windy condition in the hall.

"I've played against Chong Wei in big halls at Dubai and Japan but here it's different - it's more windy. I'll give everything I have," he added.

Chong Wei has won all meetings - a total of nine - before the back-to-back defeats over the last one year.

Can Chong Wei end Axelsen's winning streak?
