Malaysia off to an easy start in World Junior Badminton

PETALING JAYA: Chen Tang Jie could not have asked for a better start in his debut at the World Junior Championships in Bilbao, Spain.

The 18-year-old Petaling Badminton Club shuttler partnered Toh Ee Wei to beat Mexico’s Luis Armando Montoya Navarro-Nicole Marquez 21-13, 21-5 in just 18 minutes in the mixed doubles to give Malaysia a flying start in the mixed team event. Malaysia went on to whip Mexico 5-0 in the opening Group E1 tie.
