Azeem returns to power mixed relay team at Asiad

The 4x100m mixed relay squad.

NATIONAL sprinter Mohd Azeem Fahmi will return to the track to compete in the Asian Games 4x100m mixed relay heats at the Nagoya City Mizuho Park Athletic Stadium on Monday (Sept 28).

This was confirmed by Malaysian Athletics (MA) in a social media post, with the national record holder set to compete with his training partner Pengiran Aidil Auf Hajam and women runners Izzatul Musfirah Kamal Azira and Nurul Aishah Rofina Aling.

The race is scheduled for 5.30pm Malaysian time.

Azeem missed out on the men’s 4x100m relay due to injury concerns after he limped out off the 100m final on Saturday.

But with him returning, it would be a boost for the national sprint team, who failed to qualify for the men’s and women’s relay finals.
