Sayyid powers Penang to 4x400 Sukma record, ends 28-year gold wait

SERDANG: Penang quartet led by 400m gold medallist Sayyid Amin Roslan have broken the Malaysia Games (Sukma) record in the 4x400m at the Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) Stadium here on Thursday (Aug 20).

Sayyid, Y. Denishwar, K. Venket Prabhu and Mohd Farhan Mohd Isrul clocked 3:11.840 to blitz past the other quartets in the final. 

It was also Penang's first gold in the event in 28 years.

The previous record was held by Johor who recorded 3:12.35 in Sarawak two years ago.

Selangor finished second with 3:13.520, while Kedah were third with a time of 3:14.090.
