PETALING JAYA: Federal Territories’ long distance runner Chen Jie Yie has broken the women’s 10,000m Malaysia Games (Sukma) record at the Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) Stadium in Serdang on Wednesday (Aug 19).
The 20-year-old American based athlete won her event by clocking 39:47.28, breaking the time set by Selangor’s Esther Joy Chen (40:37.98) in the 2024 edition.
Selangor R. Shayathiri took silver with a time of 41:30.790, while Sabah’s Afyna Ares Lizod took bronze with a time of 42:05.170.
