Hazriq breaks Sukma 110m hurdles record in semis

SERDANG: Johor hurdler Mohd Hazriq Cik Mat Kilau has rewritten the men's 110m hurdles Malaysia Games (Sukma) record en route to winning the semi-finals heat with a time of 13.78s on Sunday (Aug 16).

He broke the record set by former national hurdler Rayzam Shah Wan Sofian, who clocked 14.10s for Sabah in the 2008 edition at the Universiti Putra Malayysia (UPM) track in Serdang. 

Terengganu and national record holder Mohd Armin Zahryl Abdul Latif was second in the heat with a time of 13.81.

The two will now battle for the gold in the 110m hurdles final, which is scheduled at 3.45pm.
