Danish retains 100m Sukma sprint king status, Izzatul crowned fastest woman

SERDANG: Johor sprinter Danish Iftikhar Mohd Roslee has retained his Malaysia Games (Sukma) men's 100m gold medal with a season’s best. 

The 19-year-old Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI) student clocked 10.27s in the final at the Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) Stadium here on Sunday (Aug 16).

Kedah duo Mohd Umaira Subri and Dzul Danish Jamari took silver and bronze respectively, posting 10.31s and 10.37s respectively. 

In the women’s final, Terengganu’s Izzatul Musfirah Kamal Azira bagged her first ever Sukma gold with a time of 11.72s. 

Selangor’s Lim Mei Yin took silver with a time of 11.96s, while Sarawak’s Alvinia Anne Jackly won bronze, with 12.07s.
