PETALING JAYA: National hurdler Mohd Armin Zahryl Abdul Latif has smashed the 110m hurdles national record for the second time at the Asian Under-23 Championships in Ordos, China, on Sunday (July 12).
The 21-year-old from Terengganu registered a new mark of 13.58s to finish fourth in the 110m hurdles final.
On Saturday, Armin had broken the nine-year old national record by clocking 13.63s in the semi-finals, erasing the time set by Rayzam Shah Sofian (13.68s) in Wenheim, Germany, in 2017.
China’s Zhao Shiqi took the 110m hurdles gold with a time of 13.38s, while his teammate Zhang Zhijun settled for silver, clocking 13.41s.
Qatar’s Oumar Dadai completed the podium with a time of 13.56s.
Another Malaysian who competed, Elvin Yap Zhi Xuan, was fifth, clocking 13.85s.
