BANGKOK: Singapore’s Calvin Quek (pic) finally turned promise into achievement to deliver Singa­pore’s first gold medal in 60 years in the men’s 400m hurdles.

Calvin had previously clinched bronze at the 2022 Games, the country’s first medal in the event since 1969 and followed it up with another bronze at the last edition.
