More to come from rare breed Kristian after breaking 40-year old record

Ready for more action: Kristian Tung will compete in the Rotterdam Big10 on Sept 6.

PETALING JAYA: National runner Kristian Tung proved he was made of sterner stuff, braving the winds in London to smash the national record in the men’s 3,000m on Thursday.

The 21-year-old lined up against seasoned European athletes under tough conditions at the BMC Record Breaker meet but, instead of being blown off course, he kept his composure to end a 40-year wait for a new national mark.
