PETALING JAYA: Malaysian Athletics (MA) have ended the service of Robert Ballard (pic) as their technical director.
Ballard’s contract ends on July 31 and MA stated that it will not be renewed because of reduced government funding and limited private sponsorship.
Ballard, who joined MA in 2023 for the second time, played a pivotal role in the national athletics programme, contributing to improved performances at regional and international meets.
"Robert’s leadership and technical insight have been instrumental in our progress over the past two years," MA said in a statement on Wednesday (July 2).
"We are grateful for his service and wish him the best in his future pursuits."
Ballard was the director from 2014 -2015 in his first stint with MA.
