Azeem and Co set fastest time in 4x100 at NCAA meet

PETALING JAYA: National sprinter Mohd Azeem Fahmi and Co from the Auburn University were in sizzling form when they clocked the fastest time in the men's 4x100m this year in the National Collegiate Athletics Association (NCAA). 

The quartet of Azeem, Kanyinsola Ajayi, Dario Matau and Makanakaishe Charamba posted a time of 38.39s to finish first in Heat Five at the Tom Jones Invitational at Gainesville in Florida.  

As the first anchor, Azeem did his part to get the team off to a blistering start.

Louisiana State University finished second with a time of 38.77s, and Kentucky University were third with a time of 39.10s.

In the overall standings, the United States national team swept the top two spots, while Auburn were ranked third. 

The quartet of Christian Coleman, Pjai Austin, Erriyon Knighton and Noah Lyles finished first with a time of 37.90s, while Courtney Lindsey, Kyree King, Kenneth Bednarek and Kendal Williams were second with a time of 38.18s.
