Early push for Tokyo

Amazing feat: Shereen Samson Vallabouy captured her first title of the year after storming to victory in the women’s 400m at the Embry-Riddle Running Elements Classic 2025 in Florida two weeks ago.

PETALING JAYA: The Malaysian Athletics Federation (MAF) have agreed to nominate 2023 SEA Games gold medallist Shereen Samson Vallabouy for a wild card slot at the World Championships in Tokyo this September, should no athlete qualify on merit.

The early announcement allows Shereen to begin her preparations well in advance, especially since it remains unclear whether she will be competing in the 100m, 200m or 400m events.
