KUALA LUMPUR: Independent mixed doubles pair Goh Soon Huat-Shevon Lai Jemie stunned top seed and compatriots Chen Tang Jie-Toh Ee Wei to storm into the final of the Malaysian Masters.

On Saturday (May 25), the world No. 18 Soon Huat-Shevon played with composure to secure a stunning 21-11, 21-19 victory over world No. 9 Tang Jie-Ee Wei in a 40-minute semi-finals match at the Axiata Arena in Bukit Jalil.

Soon Huat-Shevon will take on world No. 15 Rinov Rivaldy-Pitha Haningtyas Mentari of Indonesia in the final tomorrow.

The Malaysians have a strong record against Rinov-Pitha, having triumphed in five out of six meetings.

If Soon Huat-Shevon manage to come out on top in the final, it will be their second title of the year following their victory at the Swiss Open in Match.
