Nurturing empathy and good values through education

AS a psychologist, I have pondered on some questions pertaining to the recent gang rape case allegedly involving a group of secondary school students in Melaka.

Why did the 17-year-olds decide one day to gang-rape a 15-year old in school? Why did they act as a group and not alone? Why did they film the entire crime and then upload the video on social media? And why did they do it with the SPM exams looming for them?
