Fuel subsidy rationalisation must be equitable


ON Tuesday, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim announced that Malaysia will begin rationalising fuel subsidies, starting with the reduction of diesel subsidies, initially in Peninsular Malaysia.

This reduction is expected to rebalance subsidies away from higher income groups and toward lower income groups.
