CRUELTY to animals is prevalent throughout the world. In Malaysia, the government has taken steps to protect animals through the Animal Welfare Act 2015.

This Act, which applies to Peninsular Malaysia and the Federal Territory of Labuan, governs the use and treatment of animals and also outlines penalties for those who abuse them.
