HEALTH Minister Khairy Jamaluddin (pic) must be commended for the decision to refer the Control of Tobacco Product and Smoking Bill 2022, now widely known as the tobacco generational endgame (GEG) Bill, to a parliamentary special select committee (PSSC).
The GEG Bill, which can be considered as a proposed law on public health, should reflect at least three principles – duty, power, and restraint.
