THERE was once a former Head of Emergency Services who told a conference room full of Masters of Emergency Medicine applicants that “if you’ve just had a baby, just take two weeks off and then come back to work and studies”.
Ironically, that former head was a woman doctor herself. And she said this on more than one occasion.
