Vanishing into thin air


Plaza Pelangi shopping mall has set up a Love Tree where shoppers can write their messages and prayers for the missing Malaysian Airlines flight MH370 on cards to be hung on the tree at the mall in Johor Baru.

Aviation crashes usually make headline news but MH370 has transfixed the world because of the way it simply disappeared.

IN my column on Oct 12, 2012, I wrote about wishing Malaysia could someday command the attention of the world. This was in relation to the way Korea basked in the international limelight with Psy’s Gangnam Style music video.
