A new approach to VAR – making managers accountable in football


IN CASE you missed it, Premier League clubs have voted 19-1 in favour of keeping video assistant referees (VAR) for the upcoming season. They conducted the vote before the European Championship, with only Wolverhampton Wanderers voting against it.

Wolves listed nine reasons to support the proposal to ban VAR, including the impact on goal celebrations, hostility towards match officials, and the time needed to reach decisions.
